The ACKidz SuperBook lesson on Sundays is for all ACKidz, but if you have a small child that won’t sit through the entire SuperBook video, this link is for you!  Encourage your kiddos to stand up and participate with the video by dancing, singing, and doing motions with the lesson.

Bible Story: Daniel and the Lions Daniel 6; Psalm 46:1

Remember Verse: ”The Lord (point up) always keeps (bring arms out, around and down) His promises.” (Make book with hands) Psalm 145:13

Discussion Questions:

  1. Was Daniel the king’s helper or the king’s guard? (
  2. Did the king’s other helpers like Daniel?
  3. When the king made his new rule, what happened if you didn’t pray to the king?
  4. Did Daniel pray to God or pray to the king?
  5. When they threw Daniel in the lion’s den, did God help him?
  6. What did God do to help Daniel?

God helped Daniel and protected him from the lions in the den. God loves you and wants to help you, too!

This week we learned that the reason for the Christmas season is the birth of Jesus.

  1. What did Chris think was most important about Christmas?
  2. Do you remember what guided the Wise Men to Bethlehem?
  3. How did Mary feel when the Angel Gabriel appeared?
  4. How did Joseph feel?
  5. How did the shepherds feel?
  6. The angels did not proclaim Jesus birth to religious leaders or to wealthy, important people. God brought the news to shepherds. What significance is there in that?
  7. What do you think the angels thought?
  8. How did the Wise Men feel about God’s promise?
  9. There is one very important man mentioned in the Christmas story who is never shown in a manger scene. Can you guess who?
  10. King Herod felt his position was threatened by Jesus. Why?
  11. What do you think it was like for God to become a tiny baby?
  12. When Jesus was first born, could He feed Himself or go places by Himself?
  13. Just think, Jesus is the Son of God Almighty! What did He have to give up to leave heaven?
  14. Because He did all this, do you think He understands what we go through in this world?

  1. Was Jacob tired from traveling a long way to his uncle’s house?
  2. What did Jacob do when he got tired?
  3. Did Jacob dream of a stairway to heaven or a slide on the playground?
  4. In Jacob’s dream did God say He was watching over Jacob?
  5. Do you think God watches over you, too?

Unity can be a powerful force for things that please God or things that do not please Him!

SuperTruth: There is power in unity.

SuperVerse: He said: “These people are working together because they all speak the same language. This is just the beginning. Soon they will be able to do anything they want.” Genesis 11:6 (CEV)

Discussion Questions:

1. What does the word unity mean?

2. Why did Joy and Chris have trouble communicating with their new soccer teammate?

3. Have you ever had trouble communicating with someone who spoke a different language?

4. What happened?

5. Is it always a good thing if everyone works together?

6. What if people are working together to build something for their own glory—is that a good thing or not?

7. In the story, why were the people building the tower?

8. Did God want the people to build a tower so they could all stay together in one place? Why?

9. Genesis 11:14. Can you find a word that is repeated three times?

10. Does this sound like God was the focus of their plan?

11. Did they come together in unity to do God’s work?

Discipleship Challenge

We are pretending to be astronauts! We’re going to blast off into outer space and learn all about God’s promises.

Bible Story: Noah’s Ark Genesis 6-9; Psalm 145:13b

Need to Know: God (point up) Always Keeps (arms out, around & down) His Promises! (make book with hands)

Questions:

  1. Did it make God happy or sad when everyone forgot about Him? (Sad)
  2. There was one person who still loved God. What was his name? (Noah)
  3. What did God tell Noah to build? (an Ark/big boat)
  4. Who did God say could get on the ark? (Noah’s family & two of every animal)
  5. Did God keep Noah, his family & the animals safe on the ark? (Yes)
  6. What did God put in the sky to remind us of his promise to never flood the earth again? (Rainbow)

God made a PROMISE to Noah and to us! When we see a rainbow in the sky, we can remember that God ALWAYS keeps his promises.

Noah and the Ark Lesson 2

Trusting in the Lord is putting your faith in Him even if you don’t understand something, or if you have doubts or fears.

SuperTruth: I will live my life to please the Lord.

SuperVerse: “But without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and that He rewards everyone who searches for Him.” Hebrews 11:6 (CEV)

Discussion Questions:

  1. Why did Chris want to skip school in our video last time?
  2. Was that a wise choice for Chris—would God be pleased with that decision? Please explain.
  3. Do you think Noah ever struggled with faith on those long, dreary days when he was cooped up in the ark with all of those animals?
  4. SuperVerse discussion:
  • Point to a chair. Does it take faith to believe the chair is really there? Why or why not?
  • Would it take a lot of faith to sit on it? Why not?
  • Now let’s think about God! Can we see Him with our physical eyes?
  • So how do we know He is real?
  • Can we hear God speak with our physical ears?
  • So how do we know what He is telling us to do?
  • Since we can’t physically see or hear God, is it always easy to obey what He says?
  • Why did Noah obey God, even though he couldn’t see Him?

Conclusion: God does not hide from us; He reveals Himself to those who search for Him.

By faith Noah obeyed God, even though he was asked to do something that had never been done before.

Discussion Questions:

  1. Why do you think Chris and Joy are so impressed with Pearce?
  2. Why won’t they listen to Gizmo’s concerns?
  3. What do you think Noah’s family thought as they watched all of those animals coming toward the ark, just like God said they would?
  4. Did Noah have to go out and find all of those animals?
  5. Have you ever been tempted to do something just to fit in or be accepted?

Questions:

  1. When Jacob took food to his dad, did he TELL THE TRUTH and say, “I am Jacob,” or did he LIE and say, “I am Esau?” (He lied) Jacob lied and hurt his dad and his brother.
  2. What about you? If a loved one tells you you are allowed one cookie for snack, but you eat two cookies, what will you say when they ask how many cookies you ate? Will you tell the truth?

Telling the truth is one way we can WISE UP. God wants us to TELL THE TRUTH all the time. When we tell a lie, like Jacob did, we can hurt ourselves and others.

  2. If you are playing with blocks and you hear the Clean Up song start to play, should you KEEP building or CLEAN UP? (Clean up - at church, or home if you are learning there, we have to clean up so we can LEARN wonderful things from the Bible)

In the Beginning

We learned that God made the world and everything in it–and God’s greatest creation is you!

SuperTruth: I will honor God as my Creator and obey His Word.

SuperVerse: “You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 28:2(NLT)

God’s desire was to bless Adam and Eve. Everything He created in the Garden of Eden was for their pleasure. In this verse, we find out that God wants to bless us also when we are obedient to Him! God loves us and wants only the best for us. When we obey God’s word, His blessings and favor are released in our lives and follow us wherever we go and whatever we do!

2. Did Chris honor his dad by disobeying him?

4. Why did God want Adam and Eve to obey Him by not eating the fruit on the tree?

  1. You just finished eating your dinner,and a loved one asks you to put your plate in the sink before you go play. If you want to BE KIND (pat heart), should you LEAVE your plate on the table or should you put your plate in the sink?
  2. You made a special picture for your mom. But while you were making it, you dropped paper and glitter on the floor. If you want to BE KIND (pat heart), should you pretend you DON’T SEE (cover eyes with hands) the mess or should you CLEAN UP the mess on the floor?
  3. You and your friend are outside playing in the yard. You find some really cool sticks, but your friend hasn’t found any. If you want to BE KIND (pat heart), what should you do? (Share with your friend, help him find some, etc.)

Need To Know:  Do (thumbs to chest) what’s right (two thumbs up)
Remember Verse:  ”Love (hug self) being kind (pat heart) to others.” (Point to others) Micah 6:8 (hands open, like a book)

Questions:
What is one way you can do what is right at home? If someone tells you not to do eat candy before bed, but you do it anyway, is that doing the right thing? No! We can do what is right by listening and obeying those who love and care for us.  If you see someone in your family and they are really sad, how can you do what is right?  When you pray, be sure to ask God to help you always do the right thing.

2. Have you ever had an important assignment that you thought would be fun or exciting, but it turned out to be hard?
3. Who will help us finish an important job even if it is incredibly hard?
4.  The Apostle Paul was a man of determination and strength. It seemed that nothing could stop him from accomplishing the mission God gave him. But where did that strength come from? Do you think he just had an amazing amount of will power?
5.  What kind of race is our SuperVerse talking about?
6. What does it mean to run with endurance?
